Louisiana United Ways launch fund for flood recovery efforts

BATON ROUGE. Louisiana United Ways have UNITED to help neighbors impacted by this week’s devastating flooding. The Louisiana United Way Flood Fund has been launched to leverage resources and make the greatest impact in long-term recovery efforts for communities hit by the flooding in Louisiana.  Devastating losses are reported, with already a large concentration of families affected in north Louisiana parishes.

The Louisiana United Ways Flood Fund will provide resources for the recovery efforts in the affected regions. Financial donations to the fund can be made online at www.launitedway.org. Donors can also text LAFLOOD to 313-131 to make a contribution. Donations can also be mailed to the Louisiana United Way Flood Fund, c/o Louisiana Association of United Ways, P.O. Box 3416, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70821. Additionally, you may also deliver donations to this fund to your nearby Louisiana United Way.

“United Ways are working together to be as responsive as possible to communities impacted by the floods hitting Louisiana this week. Donations to this fund will be distributed to Louisiana United Ways to aid in recovery efforts,” says Sarah Berthelot, President and CEO of the Louisiana Association of United Ways.

Citizens in need of assistance should dial 2-1-1.  Those interested in volunteering should contact their local United Way.
